Green Finger Mixture was made during my first three month British Council international programme at Stock 20, Taichung City. It uses painting as a mode of displacement to appropriate both place and international residency as the structure of the work.

Through the slow, deliberate emptying of paint containers, Green Finger Mixture takes an international residency to view an exhibition as endurance event. Using environmental sounds as inclusions in the surface, this single shot, real-time simulation of painting on camera puts modernist ideals of paint in a context of attention disorders. This work was recently exhibited as part of Erotographomania at CAST, Hobart, Australia.
